I have a maytag dependable quiet plus 3 speed washer that got caught on a rug at the motor belt pulley or the item I was washing was too heavy on the spin cycle.. The rug was caught but the machine failed on the large load. I tested the motor with a bypass test cord to the wall power plug and the motor runs fine in agitate and spins and drains. The transmission works ok, I checked the fuse at the door switch and its okay, I checked the continuity of the switch itself and it reads okay. Is there a reset on this machine? At a loss...

What is the model number? What is it failing to do now?

So it was either something under the washer or in the washer that has caused this undisclosed issue?!
