I have a Whirlpool Duet Front Load model WFW9550WW00. I got an error F64 while doing a diagnostic test on my washer but I do not know how to fix this problem. It's says in my owner's booklet that the steamer  inlet valve failure. Can you please help me locate this part and show me how to fix it.

Thank you

There is a heater element in the bottom sump of the outer washtub, with an NTC thermistor nearby. From what I can tell from the parts diagram, there is no separate valve feeding into a steam tank on this unit (like there is on some others). The error codes on most machines are a lot like the GPS in your car: they will get you close to the problem, but not necessarily lead you directly to the doorstep.

Do you use the steam function?

1. Check valve for continuity (abnormal = infi nity).

2. Check the connections between the Steamer

3. Electronic Board and the valve for steam fill.

4. Confirm water supply to steamer.

5. Exchange the complete valve block if the steamer valve has not a resistance of approx. 812 Ω between both contacts.

6. Exchange steamer electronic board if valve is OK.

just pop the top off and you should find the valves. Just follow where the water comes into the cabinet.look around on the sides for a tech sheet to help with your diagnosis.

I have never used the steam function and I only see two openings on the valve.

Where is the steamer electronic board located? The steamer valve you are speaking of is it the inlet valve below? Also is there another name for the electronic board?

Steam valve is part of water inlet valve. If you follow the wires from the heater that's plugged into the bottom of the tub they will lead you to the steam board.

Is it possible to clean the valve then try using it.

Look for the tech sheet inside the machine and run the diagnostic test inside. That way you. Can see if the valve works. See if it fails any part of the diagnostic test.
