Hi,

This a great forum and after reading similar topics and the dishwasher service manual I feel like I went through
everything and still get IE error two minutes into "rinse only"/"normal" cycle.

It is all started in the middle of the night waking me up -
the dishwasher must have been very close to the end of the normal cycle (at least the dishes came out clean)
It blared repetedly and displayed IE error and when I opened the door a lot of steam was coming out

I was not particularly upset, since I had fixed a couple of issues with this dishwasher before

 - reconnected broken wiring stuck in tar in the door
 - replaced the drain hose
 - got a piece of debri from inside of the drain pump

Do not underestimate your enemy dishwasher ;-)

When I ran the test ("time delay" button 4 times) the frequency displayed never went beyond 015 in
several minutes peculiarly getting one up every time I opened the door
I thought about wiring
Removed the door panel and the control panel
Figured out the wires and none of them were broken  - hmmm

Then I removed the lower panels, the bottom panel and the side panel
and checked continity for the sensor and the inlet valve - no issues
I checked the continuity on the float switches- no issues

Then I cleaned the inlet valve filter (I do not think those several little grains of cacinated residue were causing any issues)

Then I measured the resistance of the inlet valve - about 1000 Om

Checked the water supply hose - it has all the PSI you can get

Then I disconnected the Air braker and float assemly and cleaned all the gunk (especially the float assembly)

Now - my dishwasher is on the side and I want o see that propeller/impeller turning with my own eyes
while I watch the frequency going up to 229

So I put the plastic assembly above a round basin on the floor, connect it only to the inlet valve rubber hose
but to all wiring (2 swiches and one sensor) and hold the whole plastic construction upright

I run the test #4 again  - the water starts flowing but very slowly, the impeller turn lazily and not uniformly,
as if the water current is not strong enough to turn it all the time

The water flows through the hose connection point in the float assembly, though the other hose connection point
and through the big vertical round opening in the air braker (the one that is supposed to be screwd to the wall from inside.
In 5 minutes or so I get the 229 on display and I assume it worksNow I connect everything properly put the
dishwasher upright and start the test cycle again - the displayed value goes up about at the same speed (slowly)

I stop it and start a "rinse only" cycle - in less then 2 minutes I have IE error again

The only conclusion I have is that the inlet valve is not opening fully
Good luck buying that part being in Canada - LG sells it only to professionals
US web sites do not send it to Canada because the manufacturer prohibits them from doing so.

I would be glad to hear your thoughts/suggestions

Thanks,
Alex

Ok, may be this questions are easier ;-)

1. How long does it take a working LG LDS5811 dishwasher to run inlet test (4 times pressing "time delay" button) and reach frequency 229? in minutes/seconds?

2. What is the volatage/amperage supplied to the inlet valve

Thanks,

Alexei
