Have an LG LFC25765ST French door refrigerator that runs continuously. Unit is 4 years old.  Compress, evaporator fan and  condenser fan  run all the time, except in defrost cycle, i think. Evaporator fan turns off when doors are opened.. No frost build up problem on evaporator coil. Main circuit board was replaced, but problem still remains.. Unit appears to be holding temperature in freezer and refrigerator sections. .This has been going on for about a month and a half. Any ideas what the problem could be. Thanks.

What are your exact temperature readings?  Your fridge uses a linear compressor... Two points

1)they are very efficient and run just about all the time... 

2)prone to sealed system failure... but has a ten year warranty.

Thanks for replying.  Freezer is reading between 25 and 30 degrees. Refrigerator section about 42 degrees. Controls are set a 0 and 37 degrees.  Unit is running more now than it did about 2 months ago.  Freezer reading I'm getting appears high?? What do you think of these readings and what maybe causing it?

I have to tell you, this is the second LG refrigerator to start going bad on me. The first failed after 3 1/2 years. Blocked/ clogged  capillary tube. Un-repairable according to LG Tech.  LG refunded cost of unit LESS a lot of deprecation dollars. They don't tell you about deprecation in warranty information. Warranty for sealed system is 7 years, PARTS ONLY, 10 years on compressor, PARTS ONLY.

Freezer reading is ver high,  it should be at 0 f.  What does the frost pattern  on your evap look like?

Check which type airflow (cooling) that your model has.

A "skirt" running across the front of the kick plate----or a "skirt" running from front to rear (dividing the bottom of the refrigerator into 2 sections)

From an older thread...

If the refrigerator is literally shoehorned into the wall---and lacking the 2 inches on either side---the compressor will run hotter than should.

Most compressors will die an early death (4 to 6 years) without proper airflow.

The flap on the bottom---prevents dirt/dust/hair---from being drawn (by a fan motor) under the refrigerator towards the Condenser Coils.

Reducing the need to frequently clean the Condenser Coils (remains clean a lot longer than traditional design refrigerators).

Instead---the air above the floor is pulled towards the rear (and through the back panel) to cool the compressor and refrigerant (minus all the dust/dirt---which falls to the floor by gravity)

In automobile analogy---this can best be compared to some vehicles that draw air from closer to the ground (hot air)---and others that have an option known as Ram Air Induction which introduces air at the front hood (cool air) via special "scoops" or vents. 

Most retailers aren't aware of the fact that there are two types of LG refrigerators sold---one that draws air from above the floor---and another that is more the traditional type (forced air flow through the front kickplate).

There was no frost at all on the evaporator when i checked it about a week ago. Clean aluminum. .

16345Ed, I hate to have to take it apart again, The last time evaporator showed no frost anywhere on it, just bright clean aluminum. I will try to take a temp reading of condenser. You said, "sounds like a restriction",  where do you think restriction might be?

John63, flap runs from front to rear. There is 2" of clearance from back wall. I put a 2" wooden block spacer in back to prevent pushing unit back to far.  LG install specs state zero clearance needed on sides.
