GB2SHDXTQ00 not cooling in either compartment, compressor not running. When I try to enter the diagnostic mode I get S H  instead of S E and cannot go any further. I have current at the compressor and the starter checks O.K. Any ideas of what the H indicates and what to do next?

Not sure what sh means I would think it means a short of some kind. If a control will not go into diagnostic mode the I replace the control. Play with the buttons and make sure they all are responsive. I would try to unplug and replug the unit first. And check voltages and wiring to the control. If you have 120 volts at compressor and the start device and compressor are good then the compressor will run. Would also make sure the compressor is not grounded.

SH is showroom mode.... You either have a bad control or you are entering the wrong keypad combination.   Showroom mode uses the light switch and FREEZER up button... Service mode uses the light switch and REFRIGERATOR up button

Thanks for the replies, I will be back at the location of the refrigerator tomorrow and make sure I am using the right buttons!

Thanks, I tried the unplug/replug but is did not help.  I  haven't checked the voltage at the control yet and will make sure the compressor is not grounded tomorrow.

Showroom mode purposely disallows cooling function

Thanks to the replies I managed to run the diagnostic mode and everything checked out O.K.  When i exited the diagnostic mode the compressor began to run but still will not cool.  I can feel it vibrating slightly, hear it running and it gets a little warm. I am wondering if I should go ahead and replace the jazz board to see if that is the problem?

Let it run overnight before jumping.

I let it run for over 24 hrs and still on cool air.

If the compressor is definitely running, but you are getting low/no cooling- you have a sealed system problem... probably low refrigerant charge. Save your money, as a new Jazz Board will not solve a problem of this nature. Compressors run super-smooth and quietly when they have low cylinder head pressure... The final test is to remove the back wall of the freezer and see if the evaporator coil tubing has no layer of frost across it, if the coil is silver, with the compressor "ON," it is in trouble. System sealer is hit-or-miss, so attempting to recharge it is possible, but not reliable--------definitely replace the unit if it has a Tecumseh compressor! (blue indian chief sticker)

Thanks for your help, I'll check the evaporator coil tubing for frost.  It sounds like a new refrigerator might be the best bet!
