Washer stops at spin cycle and won't drain

Our Frigidair front load washing machine pauses at the spin cycle and the water will not drain and it won't go any further in the cycle. When we attempt to restart/unpause it goes no further. This seems to only happen when we run a load. It went thru the full cycle and drained when run with a no clothes empty cycle. We don't have any idea whether this is a reasonably priced repair or if we would be better off buying a new one. Any thoughts? Thank you.
