Fisher and Paykel GWL15 Washing machine error

Recommended Posts

I just found this site and I am hoping it will be a GODSEND for me, I just gave my daughter my old Fisher and Paykel washing machine model number GLW15 and the machine worked great for me but when I went to hook it up and start it at my daughters house it will not run cold water, and yes new lines were bought and the cold water valve is turned on....LOL 2nd thing is that when we place water level on auto it faults out with the following error code  from left to right ...1st and 2nd lights are out...the 3rd light is blinking and 4,5,6,7, and 8 are lit up. I would greatly appreciate any help on this matter

that is not an error code , that is the normal operating lights

did you put the hoses on the right way ?

was there any water already in it ?

Yes I did hook them up correctly and no there was not any water in it....at 1st thought I may have hooked the hoses up  wrong because she had cold water selected and all that would come out was hot water.  I unhooked them and switched them but still same results, after several minutes of running water into the washing machine it starts with a series of beeps and just sits there with the cold water light flashing on and off....it is almost as the water is running into the tub but never fills up.  It is almost as if the water is running out as fast as it is running into it.  I checked and no it is not running out on the floor.......I was wondering if I were to cut off hot water valve from outlet and see if any water would come into the washing maching

hang on so you have water coming into the machine but it is hot and you have selected cold ?

If the water is continuously filling and the tub isn't getting any fuller then it sounds like you have a siphon problem or it's really not filling but recirculating the water that has already filled?

Is the drain hose pushed more then 6 inches to 1 foot down the house drain pipe?

yea I think it is pushed down at least a foot

I pulled drain hose out some but still same results.....cold water is selected but only getting hot water and the water is running but it seems like it never gets up to the proper level.....any more suggestions ...really at a lost here..?

BUMP....anyone have any ideas about the water temp being hot even if cold water is selected?

Regards to the hot vs. cold water, check the supply hoses again for reversal.  There are letters H and C embossed on back of the console to identify the connections at the machine.

Regards to filling but not getting filled ... is the pump running during this time and water is flowing out of the drain hose (pull it up from the standpipe to observe directly)?  Run the Perm Press cycle to check if the problem also happens on it.

Thanks I will check and post results as soon as I try what you suggested

4 DIAGNOSTIC MODE
To enter diagnostic mode follow the steps below.
1. Turn the power on at the power point but off at the machine.
2. Press and hold WASH TEMPERATURE SETTING DOWN and then press POWER until the
machine gives 2 short beeps and lights up.
3. Release the buttons after the beeps as the beeps indicate diagnostic mode has been entered.

4.3 Water Valve Test
The water valves can be activated in diagnostic mode by pushing WASH TEMPERATURE
SETTING UP to activate the Hot Valve and WASH TEMPERATURE SETTING DOWN to activate
the Cold valve as with previous models.
Pressing each button once will activate the valve. To de-activate valve press the same button
again. This is also good to use when installing machines as it takes the shock out of the fittings
and seals and allows checking for leaks on the inlet hoses, both machine end and tap or super-tub
end.

Caution: Do not leave the machine unattended when either or both valves are operating.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks to ALL the help guys, yes the drain hose was stuck down too far, and the hot and cold water issue was an easy fix....amazing what temp of water comes out when you have the correct line hooked up ...LOL
