Have a Frigidaire that I repaired this is more of a question than help. I can hear the the freezer sealing when I close it. No sometime I hear it and sometime I don't. Could anyone explain the process to me? Other refrigerators I work on like SxS ge or Whirlpools make this suction sound when you close the door.

Well.......I'll take a stab at this.......

Modern refrigerators are to designed to have a negative pressure......that gives doors a better seal. Anyway, I may be wrong, but that's my understanding. You are correct, some do make a noise, and some do not. I'll make my own short explanation of this, and this is only the way I understand it.....if I'm wrong, please let me know.

...to initiate a negative pressure you must alleviate any positive pressure, and with a domestic refrigerator, positive air must leave both the ff and freezer sections, which means air leaves through the drain tube(defrost). If a refrigerator made within the last 8-12 years doesn't seal properly.......this is a possibility.

I could write more, and go into more detail........but I'm tired........but I could be wrong......LOL
