I'd like to access wires behind the compressor. Is it ok to tilt the fridge back against the wall 30 degrees or so and remove the drip pan to do so? Would I need to let it sit vertical for a while before plugging it back in?

Hello there Grasshoppah. Any chance you wanting to access the (splice) wires behind the compressor because the box is not running?

I don't think you'll need to let it sit for any length of time for that. Just don't let it slip away from you.

Actually, it's cooling ok. But a few years ago we had an icemaker burst into flames and since then had no power to the water valves, dispenser area, icemaker, and light switch. So I just thought I'd take a look at the 12-pin connector back there and the wires too. Just looking for anything obvious. Not a tech - just grasshoppah - I know just enough to be dangerous.

Consider taking this Kung Fu Appliance Dudes courses. That's a lot of trouble just to go have a look.

Icemakers bursting into flames? L.O.L. You do sound dangerous.

Good luck with that.

I've been all over this fridge except that mysterious area behind the compressor. Something driving me to get back there. I figure as long as I unplug it, what can happen?

To be fair, the first time the icemaker blew up, was the icemaker's fault. When I repaired the burnt wiring, hit the on button, and it blew up, that may have been me.

That would've been epic to see that that happen. I would've paid good beer money to be a fly on the wall to see something like that......wow, I may have nitemares on the horizon about this.....please keep up up to date on your findings.  Hey, just thinking outside the box here....(bad icemaker????).....in harvest mode the heater stays on...??? still can't imagine flames......just white plastic melting......anyway....keep us up to date......and if I can figure something out I'll post an opinion.....

Just saw your post. Yeah, I hear that's pretty rare to see flames. Why me? I get a new water valve tomorrow so I may install that and a new icemaker and see what happens. I don't really expect anything though because there is no power at any of the old water valves. I think, even not working, I should have around 120v at the yellow one?
