Whirlpool gas range #SF272LXTD0 OVEN/BROILER WON`T COME ON

I have a Whirpool gas range Model SF272LXTD0 the Oven and the Broiler will not turn on with panel , i think the control # W10114374 is bad it cost almost $300 is there a test to see if it is bad before i buy one.

Does it spark? Does it do anything when you start a cycle? Do you have a multimeter?

Pull tech sheet from rear of unit.

Run diagnostics to check bake n broil  function 

any type of noise when trying to use bake or broil

I should say , you can push Bake or Broil set temp then push start but nothing happens , normally you would hear a click then burner would light but now nothing with bake or broil , all other functions on panel work .

I'd first start with ohmming out the gas valve. I believe it has three leads. Unplug unit, unplug middle spade terminal(which I believe is neutral......from neutral to the left terminal should read....??? I don't remember.....maybe around 8 ohms...if infinity(open) it's a bad valve....same with reading ohms from neutral to the right terminal(which I think is for the broil. Anyway, if you read open in either test it's a bad gas valve, which is pretty common....but they have redesigned these bastards over the last few years, and I believe they've done so just to confuse the crap out of everyone....and to really piss of us techs......at times we are sometimes just parts changers nowadays..... 

Hey.....if you get continuity on both tests of the gas valve I'd say that's (probably) okay.....then.....since both bake and broil don't work, I may suspect the main control board, or it could have a separate spark board. Of course you could have an issue with the wiring, and the spark electrodes are very common to go bad, but not both at one time. Look for a common source when both fail at the same time. Hey....let's not forget.....make sure you have a good ground, both in your house wiring and in/on the stove......so, lots of stuff to look for. But hey....that's why we get paid the big bucks....LMAO....

Checked wiring and gas valves all ok guess this leaves me with the overpriced control board that cost almost as much as a new cook stove.

Looks like a control board issue .   Get from repair lining or allpartspro due to 1 yr warranty

What reading did you get when you checked the gas valve(s)?

I don't have a wire diagram for this one but i do not belive that the main board is sending the spark to the oven or broiler that comes from the spark module board.

Need to find out if you got power coming out of the control panel to the spark module part number Part number: WPW10331686
