We rent out an apartment through AirBNB. It has a new washer and dryer. The experience has been very positive except for yesterday's guests. They apparently got drunk and either accidentally or on purpose broke the new washer. The brittle plastic top on a HD detergent bottle was shattered. Pieces of plastic were all over the floor and stuffed inside the laundry detergent drawer, and there was water all over the floor. After cleaning up the mess, my wife tried to run the washer but it is locked up. The water appears to be drained, but there is a strong humming noise that may be associated with the pump. The cycle doesn't advance and the door won't unlock. There is no response to any control input and a flashing light indicates that the door is locked. The machine had to be unplugged to stop the noise as I don't want to burn anything up.

I will probably try to have the washer serviced professionally so that I can seek reimbursement. I may still pull a repair manual for it though.  Meanwhile any thoughts on how the unlock the door, Suggestions in the owners manual don't work.

Thank you!
