I have a GE side by side refrigerator that has all of a sudden started to warm up in the fridge section, the freezer is working great and I do not see any ice build up anywhere.  I think someone told me that the fridge is cooled by a fan pushing cold air from freezer thru some duct work to fridge.  The fan is running in the freezer but I feel very little air from the duct work in upper left hand corner in fridge.  Can someone give me some ideas as where to start on trying to figure out what is going on...freezer temps is around 15*F and fridge is 55 to 58 *F

smee123...it was froze over....not a solid block of ice but was a lot of ice around it. I unplugged fridge and let the ice melt and someone told me to check the grill on the bottom and see if it was clean, it was full of dust  and lint and of course no air flow could pass thru it as this fridge is kept out in the garage.

Depending on what pattern the ice was built up,  it could be a defrost issue,  a low freon issue,  or a "door was left cracked open" issue.   It will be one of those three for sure.

thanks since I know the door was not left open and since I have allowed all the ice to melt if freon was the issue then it would never get cold?  If it is a defrost issue would the fridge get cold for a little while?

If you defrost a machine by unplugging it when it is having defrost issues, it will usually take about 5 days for the evaporator to become re-blocked with frost... You can do a resistance check on the heater element next time you are in there- and inspect the defrost thermostat for bloating.

If it is a sealed system/low charge situation, the frost will tend to be very solid, but in a small area- not spread across the entire coil, and the freezer would not be able to reach the normal operating temperature of 0 degrees F.
