Kitchenaid   model # KEMS378SSS00    Kitchenaid Microwave Oven Combo Display not working.

The display is dead.  Both oven and microwave still work, but the display shows nothing.  I am the owner, not a repair tech.

I believe the unit suffered some type of power issue.  I replaced the internal fuse in order to get it to work (with dead display).  I hired a repair tech who said

it needs two new control boards and it's going to be like $860 to fix it.

I personally replaced the microwave control board and the oven control board but it didn't solve the problem.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

That's pretty odd. If they both work how can you control the temperature? Just by chance, you didn't get a lightning strike nearby did you? Just asking. By looking at your model it looks like you may have three or more boards on this. What boards did you replace? It looks like there's a separate inverter board along with a display board and a main control board. You may also have more than one or two fuses in this beast.

I replaced the microwave control board and the oven control board.  I don't think it was a lightning strike; they are extremely rare where I live.

All of the buttons work so I can control both the oven and the microwave; I just can't see any display so I can only guess what the temperature setting is.
