Where does the 120 VAC for the ice maker come from.  I have only 22VAC at the socket in the back of the fridge where the ice maker module plugs in.  If I take the ice maker module out of the fridge and bench test it - it works.

Power to icemaker is cycled from control board

Posted

I haven't looked up a techsheet to verify this but I'm working a PFS22SISBSS that has the same exact icemaker setup.

You would think it should work with the door open since the ice bin stays in place when door is opened but on the one I'm working on when the light switch is open, (Light on), there is no power to the icemaker.

The 22 volts you're seeing is most likely just junk voltage.

Also if it is wired as described above, just because the light goes out when the door switch is pressed to the closed position doesn't mean the light switch is OK, the Normal Open contacts that close when the switch is pushed in for the light to turn off could be bad.
