I have a kenmore elite dryer that will run about 10 minutes then stop and display cru sll and will continually beep until powered down and powered up.  If I run without clothes it won't shut off.  I have cleaned exhaust and disassembled lent trap and cleaned.  I have verified with a bore scope to ensure a clear air flow path.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Have you tried different cycles?

Time dry, auto dry, air only.

Does it heat when it does run?

I believe that is a Frigidaire Affinity with Kenmore branding.

Those letters being displayed are not error codes listed in manual.

Yes I have tried different cycles including times dry.  It does heat up and now it actually has started doing it with no clothes in it as well.

Next step is open up cabinet find tech sheet, read how to run diagnostic tests, run tests, report back results.

Any suggestions on how to run diagnostics?  All I have found is "installation cycle" which I ran and is have me same code.

Posted

Tech sheet provides no instructions on placing unit in diagnostics?

Does the sheet have a wiring diagram on it?

Posted

I don't have tech sheet, would it be behind back panel?  All I have is owners manual and it doesn't give any error code information.

It's in cabinet somewhere probably behind bottom front panel.

This might work...

Ok I got the front off and and found tech sheet.  I ran diagnostics and I am getting an E41, E61, and E64.  I was able to clear all but E41.  It the process I shorted out door switch so I am out of commission until I get one of those to see if clearing the codes fixed anything.

Always cut power before any disassembly.

Posted

Is there an E41 described on your tech sheet? I see E61 and R64.

Posted

E64 I meant

Posted

No there isn't an E41 in the tech sheet.

Posted

Well E64 is open heater coil. Check it for continuity.

Otherwise the relay on your control board maybe be bad. E61

Would need to test for power coming out of board.
