We purchased this range in June of 2015. The owners manual says to select the temperature you want and when the oven is ready to use it will beep 6 times. In fact when it beeps about 6=8 minutes later, set for 365 it is only at 225. The Samsung warranty repairman said the beeps only mean you now have to wait for it to come up to temperature (NOT what is says in the manual!!) which will take another 30 to 45 minutes. Almost an hour to preheat to 365 and at what cost?? Then it may go as high as 385 or may stop at 345. recently, the oven was brought up to temperature and a dozen cookies baked 12 minutes turned out just about right, the next dozen, swapped in at the same time, were burnt after only 8 minutes, temperature fluctuation??

This unit has a feature we thought we'd get good use out of: a bread proofer for raising dough. Problem is that when the dough is properly raised it has to sit for 30-45 minutes while the oven reaches temperature, by which time the dough is hopelessly over risen and the bread never turns out.

Samsung repairman says that is how this was designed. Two visits from the Sears guy (under warranty) gave the same results. Samsung has sold a range that cannot be used to bake cookies, cakes, pastries or bread - the MAIN reason we have the stove!  Any chance there is a fix for this problem? So far we have moved it to the garage and have gone to a GE gas range but I would like to sell the Samsung in usable condition.

If the oven takes too long to preheat, perform/verify the following:

  1. Take everything out of the oven except for one oven rack.
  2. Verify the door is completely closed.
  3. Set the oven temperature to 350°. The oven should reach the set temperature in 15 - 20 minutes.
    • If the oven reaches 350° within 20 minutes, the oven is working properly.
    • If the oven does not reach 350° within 20 minutes, proceed to step 3.
  1. Verify the power supply is supplying 240 Volts to the unit.
  2. Consider any factors that may be extending the preheat time.
    • High temperatures require longer preheating times.
    • It takes longer for a cold oven to heat up, than an oven that was already warm.
    • The number of racks increase the preheat time.
    • Voltage lower than 240V do not heat as quickly/efficiently

If the items above do not resolve/explain the issue, service is required.
