NLA GE side contact infinite burner switch for JP372B9K4. Don't want to junk the unit. Bottom contact type switches won't fit the front control panel design, no clearance. Any ideas where I can buy NOS switch or used switch or...???

Thanks!!!

Google " switch WB21X5248 ". About $200.00 bucks on eBay.

Thank you. I saw that also but I'm trying not to pay $195 for a $25 switch for a 25+ year old unit that is on its way out.

You can search the ERP catalog... they have substitutes for a lot of old knobs and such

Please explain "ERP" catalog. A link if possible.

Thanks so much!

Duh! Stupid me

Exact Replacement Parts.

Unfortunately they don't have a listing for it

You can check-up on these and see if one will work for you:

  1. GE               part #WB21X5243  will sub for many "NLA" GE switches
  2. Robertshaw     part # 5500-200  and part # 5500-202           -------> these are universal kits for electric cooktop elements!
  3. NOTE THE EXISTING WIRING! Each terminal has a letter. Take a photo or drawing for reference, because the new switch's post locations were are often not the same as the old.
  4. Be sure to re- wire and mount the switch securely before turning the power back on (240V shorts are not unlike a shotgun blast!)

Thanks so much for your input

They will not work.

The original switch is a very low profile with terminals on the side. The switch profiles with the terminals on the bottom cannot safely fit into the space allotted in the controls console.

I am buying the very expensive item from EBAY vs trashing the unit

That should do it.

Thanks again.

Wow, that is an oddball switch housing... it looks too thin to bend the spades and use insulated flag terminals even. Dang, I'm with you on $200 bucks being a bit painful!

Don't just pay the $200,  you did see that it had a MAKE OFFER option.

Make a reasonable offer and you might get it cheaper, wouldn't hurt to trying except time, (seller has up to 48 hours to respond to offer - they can counter-offer - you have up to two more chances to counter their offer).
