Whirlpool dishwasher GU3000XTXQ2 dispenser

One of the hinge pins on the detergent dispenser door broke off. I figured I couldn't get a replacement door and would have to get the whole dispenser. Went to Whirlpool's website and they spec part# WPW10605015.  That's not the part that is on my d/w, but it is supposed to work so I bought one.

So, I get the part and find that the power connector is different than the part that is on the d/w (which is part# WPW10199696). I contacted Whirlpool via 'chat' and they (the rep and his supervisor) insist that either part should work. Well, how am I supposed to get WPW10605015 to work if the connector on the harness is the type that fits WPW10199696?

Am I missing something or are the Whirlpool reps missing some marbles?

Thanks a lot!

If you look up both of the part numbers on Repairclinic, you will see that they specifically picture the connectors, likely because you are not the first person to have this issue... Always trust your own eyes, as the "tech" on the other end of most tech lines never handled a wrench- so that being said, return the part they sent you and order the  WPW1019969. Check out the pictures of them at Repairclinic, like I did, to verify which connector end will work with no "adjustments" needed.

See this discussion, someone else just had the exact same problem - the wax motor actuated dispenser and solenoid actuated are NOT inter-changeable!

OK, thanks for the quick replies everyone. I did not see the other post and did not see a forum search button. I thought maybe I had to get a conversion harness/connector or something like that. Looks like I need to get the right part. [smh]
