Viking VDSC3676BSS oven with electrical burning smell

Eighteen months ago, my oven stopped heating. I had noticed an electrical burning smell during preheating for several occasions before that, so it wasn't surprising when my local Viking repair person replaced the PM010129 relay with an authorized (expensive) part. Since then, I have used the oven about a dozen times. The last few times, I have noticed a similar electrical burning smell during preheat, and I have checked to make sure it was not coming from anything *inside* the oven. It is coming from the lower front right corner, where the replaced relay resides. The oven still heats, but it is just a matter of time before it stops functioning, and Thanksgiving is looming...

Guess what? My local repair company no longer services Viking appliances, due to "difficulty repairing their products and obtaining parts in a reasonable amount of time." Fun.

Through some web research, I see that there were some issues with Viking relays failing. Shall I attempt to replace the relay with a 30A part, as suggested in this older forum answer? http://applianceguru.com/forum1/9395.html

Should I go through some other troubleshooting steps? Or shall I call the new local authorized Viking service group to see it firsthand?

BTW, the serial number starts with 052803, which is the manufacturing date.

Thanks!
