I have a DV42H5200EP Samsung dryer that turns but does not produces heat, 2 days before Xmas, great!! In the troubleshooting manual, it is written that I should check the thermistor with an ohmmeter but no information is given has to how to access it.

Tx for your help,

Yves

Thanks. That helped a lot.

The unit is on top of the washer. Is there any unforeseen problem(s) to do the disassembly without lowering it?

Also please be sure to unplug the unit, then double check you unplugged it, then before reaching your hand in the unit check one last time that it's unplugged. ?

Yes, I made sure it was unplug but I had flipped the breaker at the panel before pulling the unit. I was able to get the heater assembly out, parts of the heater element were rattling inside. I do have continuity on both the fuse and thermostat. Turns out my wife purchased the extended warranty (til sept 2017). So I will wait for the tech to call on the 27th before doing anything else.
