Marvel IM30 won't stop making ice- not thermosistor?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a Marvel IM30 standalone ice machine.  It won't stop making ice.  I took it apart and tested the bin thermosistor, which performed on spec at room temperature and in an ice bath.  Put it back together, including improving insulation in the connection between the wire and tube in case moisture was getting in, but same thing.  Any thoughts on what to test or where to go from here?

Thank you!

When was the last time you ran a CLEAN cycle?

Improved insulation in a connection? How so?

Posted

Hi, I ran a clean cycle when I plugged it back in after working on it.  Admittedly, never int he 1.5 years I owned the house prior- I didn't know the clean cycle was there.  I left it on clean a couple hours, then flipped it back.

Where the wire is taped to the tube that holds the thermosistor, I just put some of the refrigeration putty (I forget what it is called) around it.  The same stuff that I was supposed to put around the tube opening when I replaced the thermostat in a refrigerator.  I didn't know if it needed it, but I figured it couldn't hurt it..
