Kenmore Laundry Center 417.61712510

My wife put a heavy bedspread in the washer and when she looked at it the water had not drained. I fiddled with the dial and it drained on rinse/spin but did not spin. I turned off the power hoping for someone of reset and it would fill, agitate and drain but still not spin. I tried numerous settings but it would not work properly. I finally called a local repair person. he took the front off and when he saw that it had no drive belt (he thought that might be the problem so he brought one) and was largely computer operated he said he wouldn't be able to determine the problem and didn't want too just start throwing parts at it. With the help of Appliantology I fixed my old Laundry Center a number of times but I'm thinking this is way over my heard. I made an appointment with a Sears tech even though so many people say that their service is really bad. They can't come for a week so I figured I'd try here.

thanks

Thanks, would a faulty lid switch cause all the cycles to be thrown off? Right now if I push the control switch on any setting it beeps three times and begins to agitate. I have to continuously push the button in and out to get it to stop but the lip never opens.

That's a new compliant. Before it just wouldn't spin?

I suggest you call another tech. Some testing needs done.
