Model no. SHU43CO5UC/38 - Continuously runs, will not cycle off, no hot water during cycle

SHU43CO5UC/38, Bosch dishwasher;  Will not cycle off - continually runs - water not hot.  Opened up the control module and did not find any burnt solder, or damage to any of the circuits.  Do not have an induction ammeter so could not test the heater assembly voltage (found this helpful nugget on a Appliantology post from Nov. 29, 2013).  From everything I have read, the board may need replacing.  If so, what else on the board could fail, and could it be replaced, similar to the heater relay?  Any thoughts on my specific dishwasher unit would be appreciated - many thanks.

Buy a meter before you buy parts... test the heater circuit and proceed from there...
