AQAppliances Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 Manufacturer: Kenmore Type of Appliance: Washer Model Number: 40249032012 Have you validated the model number at an online parts site like Repair Clinic? (yes or no): Yes Have you watched the video on how to search for manuals and have you searched the Downloads section prior to posting this request? (yes or no): Yes Cannot locate the manual for this crossover model. The 4029032013 crosses-over to a Samsung model but this one does not.
Team Samurai Samurai Appliance Repair Man Posted January 5, 2017 Team Samurai Posted January 5, 2017 Unfortunately, because it's behind the Kenmore info-blockage, I can't get a manual for it unless you can cross it over to a Samsung OEM equivalent model. One way of doing this is by getting the part number for a key part, like the main control board, and see if it crosses over to a Samsung OEM model at Appliance Parts Pros.
AQAppliances Posted January 5, 2017 Author Posted January 5, 2017 Thanks for looking into this. Is Kenmore not giving out their manuals anymore?
Team Samurai Samurai Appliance Repair Man Posted January 5, 2017 Team Samurai Posted January 5, 2017 They never did. That's just how Sears rolls. Any Kenmore manuals that I've been able to get were either by crossing over to an OEM equivalent or from donation by a Sears tech member here at Appliantology. Some manufacturers will directly cross over a Kenmore model number to their literature database. Frigidaire/Electrolux does this pretty consistently; Whirlpool about 70% of the time. Samsung doesn't do this at all.
AQAppliances Posted January 5, 2017 Author Posted January 5, 2017 I always thought that if the big repair companies really wanted to crush the little guy then all they would have to do is withhold the service manuals. Kind of like the car companies are doing with their diagnostic software.
Team Samurai Samurai Appliance Repair Man Posted January 5, 2017 Team Samurai Posted January 5, 2017 Yep, they could. Fortunately for us, it's not in their best interest to do that because they want their stuff fixed and their customers taken care of. 1
