Whirlpool Gold Series WDT720PADM1 F7 Code

Hello everyone. This is my 1st post on this forum. I will start off with the fact that I cant stand it when things break, especially when they break after 16 months of use. What I hate more than that is paying someone to fix something that I feel like I can and should do. I have researched this F7 code and it says flow meter or water inlet valve. I have also read that I can manually fill the bottom with water to trick the dishwasher into working if it was one of the two items I mentioned previously. I tried that this evening with no luck. Is there something I am missing? The tub fills with water (not sure how high its supposed to fill). It will drain and make a few noises here and there but the water does not spray. I would think that would be the pump but the F7 is the only code Im getting. If the pump is bad is there a code for that? I would much rather fix it than buy a new one obviously. Its also way too bulky for a boat anchor. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Not sure where you got your info from but f7 is a heater fault and function codes should be followed by an error code Like f7 e1. 1 would be no heat, 2 would be heater stuck on. Code f6 e7 would be a flow meter error. Get the error figured out first.

remove the toe plate and retrieve the tech sheet.....Read the diagnostic steps carefully, the f-code then the problem code will flash in the display  first,  after entering diagnostics...........right them down and compare the codes to the tech sheet.......i have had up to 3 three codes stored....
