RS265TDRS/XAA Samsung SxS with New in-door Ice Maker not Working.

Hello Everyone,

Long time no see. Finally, I've run into a hard one:

Client has been gifted with a 6-year old Samsung fridge with no known history. The unit operates at perfect temperatures and everything works well except for the ice maker. It will not cycle unless the test switch is pressed. When pressed, it will cycle until it calls for water. Then water rushes in but only for a second and it gets cancelled with an audible "beep beep beep" and will never run again. When looking to see how much water actually gets into the IM's tray you will see that only enough to make 2 cubes is allowed to enter.

I actually replaced the ice maker (brand new) today and ran the test again to find the same issue is still occurring. Of course, the ice maker was warm because I had just installed it, but I think a call back is coming in the morning even after the IM reaches the proper temp.

What kind of surgery am I looking at getting into? Have you guys seen this before.

I have ran into a similar situation where the supply line that runs up the door was kinked under the grill and it would restrict the water flow to the ice maker with door open. With door closed it would not allow any water into the ice maker.

Thank you so much for your response! That is some great insight I will be sure to remember.

Client called back with good news. The new ice maker DID actually fix the problem!
