Whirlpool Duet Sport Dryer won't start

Model number WED8300SW1.

Couple days ago, I tried to start the dryer, and heard a couple clicks, and the front panel showed the sensing light.

I replaced the thermal fuse today (tested for continuity, old fuse was bad, and new fuse is good).  When I put the unit back together, I get three beeps when I hit start, like the door is open.  I have tested the door switch, and it is good.  What else could be causing this problem?

I really pulled a mental boner here.  The thermal fuse was the issue.  When I reassembled the dryer, I connected the door switch into the humidity sensor harness, and vice versa.

Problem solved, and all is well.

I was going to tell you to double check the door switch connection. Ive done that. I was in a rush reassembling the dryer so that I could get to my next call and forgot to connect the door switch.

We've all done it. Congrats on finding the problem.

I always replace the thermistor WP8577274 when I see the thermal fuse is bad.
