Maytag Performa Washer MTW5740TQ0

Trying to disassemble this washer to find out where the leak is.  This is the style case that does not have a removable front panel,

There are no clips holding the top on, though there appear to be slots for clips.  Nonetheless, the top won't budge, and appears to be screwed on from the underside.

Please advise on how to get this thing safely apart so I can look at its innards....

After much cursing, I figured out that the clips barely poking out of the back of the control panel were the ones to undo.  Only reachable up under the top, above the tub.  Ugh!

Thanks to those who read this post.

The clips are on each side of the console , you have to push them in from the front side with a putty knife.  This is really a whirlpool made machine so if you can watch a video on how to disassemble a whirlpool it will help you more.

Clips are on each corner of control panel. Push in with putty knife while pushing back on top of console.

Once console is flipped back two big steel clips need removed and the entire cabinet will then come off.
