I have a Frigidaire front load washing machine.  Is it possible the pump can put out water to fast?  Sometimes it leaks at the drain hose and sometimes not.  Could be first load or last.  I have a clamp on the hose where it meets the drain and installed a vacuum break.

Thank you for any ideas

You may have a plumbing issue, partial clog or standpipe not long enough.

Pull the supply line from the back of the washer, shove it down the drain and turn it on. The drain should accept all the water. If it starts to over flow then you know you drain is backing up.

Washing machines produce tons of lint... thusly, why so many old ladies have a used piece of panty hose over the end of the drain, they are trying to avoid the big plumber's bill for rodding the drain...
