The dual element on my electric range stopped working correctly.  The outer 1" ring works fine.  When I took the glass top apart I found the blue wire where it connected to element burnt off.  I checked the element for resistance and I think it is fine.  Just wondering why this would happen.  Can I just solder the wire back on since the staycon male end is mostly gone?  I would love to add pics but don't know how.

Thanks for any help

model number would help....................

Loose connectors can generate heat and burn up wires and terminals. I would replace the terminal. Not sure if there are any service bullitens we would need model number to check.

When you say replace the terminal what exactly do you mean?

Thanks

The male end of the connector ( the one attached to the element) is also burnt off.  That is why I was wondering if I could just Solder it.

Thanks
