When I turn this washer to spin and on, it immediately trips the breaker. All connections seem to be fine.

Does it try to spin at all? If not, check for a shorted motor winding...

No, as soon as you pull the timer to start the washer, the breaker trips, so it doesn't have the chance to try and spin.

Then you have a dead short somewhere... open it up and you may see the problem with just a visual inspection.

Breaker or GFI outlet?

The first time, the other gfi outlet, the next two times the breaker

A visual inspection of all the wiring doesn't show any shorts that I can see. I will look again later in the week, but I'm quite sure there was nothing to be seen.

I had a spare motor and tried using that and got the same issue, same with the capacitor. I still can't seem to find any issue with the wiring, but I suppose it has to be the issue. Do they sell the wiring?

Most likely problem is a bad timer, contacts welded and dead shorting because of the way they are welded and what others are closed.

I have one I'm working on that uses the same style of timer and was dead shorting even when the timer was off then started agitating when no water then stopped and water started filling OK, then went back to shorting.

A quick test of the timer, pull the connector plug from it and push the timer knob in so it should be off.   Do a continuity check from each contact/point, in off all should be open reading.   Check each one from the middle to it's respective top and bottom contact, if any show continuity with the timer off then that is for sure your problem.

You can order the timer from here and if it doesn't fix your problem you can return it and only be out shipping charges.

Great call. Used a matching timer from another washer I had to test and everything worked fine. Thanks for the tip and I'm ordering it now!
