I have a front load Electrolux washing maching, model number EWFLS70JRR0.  During the end of a wash while the machine is on the final spin cycle we are getting a smell.  It smells like hot electrical parts.  Could the drum drive motor or pump motor get too hot during this cycle?  It smells like a overheating electric motor to me.  There are no noises.  It's definitely not a burning rubber smell like a belt would have.  I don't know if this thing even has a belt anywhere.

I should have said it doesn't have a burning rubber smell like a rubber belt.  I don't know if this thing has belts or if they're made of rubber.

Look at your rubber between the door and the tub. Do you see where the tub has been rubbing on it?

Another easy thing to look at is the drive pulley. Remove 6 or 8 Phillips screws on the back panel and look at the drum drive pulley. Its the large pulley right in the middle that turns the spin basket inside the tub. I have seen so many of these pulleys get loose which allows the pulley to rub against the rear of the tub and create a burning smell. In many cases the pulley has scored a grove right through the outer tub and water starts coming out.

The rubber between the door and tub looks good.  No melted spots.  Inside of the tub there is no smell.  I'll check the pulley on the back, I didn't think of that.  Now the smell seems to be starting midway during the wash load.  It's a chemical smell, like hot metal or electrical parts.

Next thing on my list might be to check for overheating on the MCU - motor control unit.  While you have the back off the MCU is a cigar box sized unit mounted to the base on the left side if memory serves...
