older refrig (LG LRSC26922TT) - water valve not the same

I cracked the push-connect ring on my refrig water valve where the 5/16" line to the water filter connects . I don't imagine I can purchase just the push-connect piece so I contacted LG for the correct part # for the valve (5221JB2006A). However, this valve is significantly larger than the one on my refrigerator. One of the reviews on Amazon for this part referred to a separately sold wiring harness that may be required, depending on original valve design. This is obviously alarming since there's apparently no way to know in advance. The two parts suppliers I usually work with didn't know any more than what's included in the notes from LG, which is nada.

The refrigerator is in a rental house I own that's more than an hour's drive (further than that from nearest town), so I need to make sure I have what I need when I drive out there. So I contacted LG appliance support 2 additional times trying to confirm one way or the other if this valve is plug-replaceable for my model, but no one can help. They can only refer me to their parts distributor for my area of the country, who had no clue, or a service company, who I don't imagine would provide support to a homeowner repair, assuming I could even talk to a technician without paying them to drive 3 hours round-trip to the site.

Hopefully someone here can confirm if this valve is plug-compatible with my model. I would certainly be grateful!

The terminal connections on the valves are pretty standard, looks like this is a new sub part and the original was discontinued, but it shouldn't be completely alien from the old one... looks like there will be enough slack to hook it up.

I think the issue that necessitated a new wiring harness is that the replacement valve may have 4 solenoids, whereas the old valve may only have 3.

I can't tell much from these pictures, and unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the valve when I was onsite.

both valves, old and new, appear to have three solenoids- a single "inlet" and two for "distribution."

I think you will be ok, but it is possible the second outdated part may not be the one on your machine, but it is all we have to go on trail-wise.

John the LG guru may have an opinion on this one...

I would order he harness from a supplier that will let you return it if not needed. That way you don't have to make 2 trips. A local store would be reccomended so you don't have to pay shipping. We run into this a lot in the field. It's best to order parts right In front of the machine so you can have a visual reference.

I receive new valve today and drove out to the house. Turns out the valves are identical in form, so the repair was simple. Apparently the reviewer on Amazon was replacing a 3-solenoid valve.
