Best I can get with a Kenmore model number is this old Whirlpool apartment laundry Job Aid

Thank you samurai .  I just replaced a washer motor on this unit, part # WP661600.   Is it possible for this motor not to have a capacitor? I looked on the Sears parts Direct parts diagram and couldn't find one. It has six wires and I believe that's a two speed.  The problem was that it won't intermittently spin, the motor would hum when manually putting on spin and pulling knob out. The old motor's label says 189-227 mfd. on it.  I didn't look in the control panel yet .

This motor takes a capacitor. It may be mounted in a different location from the motor but still wired in the motor circuit. Repairclinic lists a capacitor for this model: https://www.repairclinic.com/Shop-For-Parts/a17b6c12d157682/Model-11088752791-Kenmore-Washer-Dryer-Combo-Capacitor-Parts

This is a capacitor rating and further confirms that this motor is designed to operate with a start capacitor.
