WRF989SDAE00 Whirlpool freezer ice buildup

Whirlpool WRF989SDAE00 is building up ice in the bottom of the freezer drawer compartment.  I am having to bust up ice weekly, sometimes twice a week, or it will not open.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Your drain tube for defrost water could be plugged. Instead of water going down drain it is backing up into freezer onto floor and freezing. Need to gain access to tube in back and make sure it is clear. clean or replace as needed. Then you need to thaw freezer drain, harder to access from inside freezer or shut down entire fridge completely for 24-48 hrs with doors propped open to let thaw and guaranteed thawed.

Is there any way to remove the inner drawer (the plastic drawer that is above the actual, main freezer drawer)?

This is kind of hard to explain, If you take the door off, loosen the 4 screws and lift off. Pull both drawers out and spread left rail then right rail, there are tabs that hold drawer in place. but when you spread each one slightly you lift up on bottom drawer , both drawers should come out stacked together.

Might be in you owners manual

Now that I look at parts breakdown this might not be the way for yours.

So after looking the door still needs to come off then there are two stops on left and right side, use a small screwdriver inside hole of stop and pop off, then drawer should come out.

Thanks, appreciate it.
