Kenmore Elite (LG manufactured) Dispenser Display

I have an Kenmore Elite refrigerator model 795.71063.010 which has the display surface piece coming off. The part number for this whole display assembly is ACQ76217901. They show it as not available any more  from the manufacturer. Is there a way to get just the display Cover "tape" as when yo replace an oven display? Your help is appreciated.

Not much can be done.

The laminate was never available separately either.

Try using clear shipping tape to "repair" delamination.

Why would this company which I have conversed with on the phone over a warranty problem (which went no where)make a product that they discontinue a major part of so to make it utterly useless?

It is frustrating.

I just had to condemn a beautiful 6 1/2 year old LG range...due to the Touchpad being NLA.

It's possible that the manufacturer did not anticipate demand for these type of components/parts...therefore made a low production run for inventory.
