GE WSXH208H1WW Washer fills with water when not used

My GE front loading washer (WSXH208H1WW)  has water in the drum when it sits for 2 or 3 days.  The water is not left over from a previous load.  It seems to be filling slowly over time.  I am afraid it will eventually be over the rim if we go on a vacation and it sits for a prolonged time.  Could this be due to the valves not properly closing or should I look elsewhere.
