Whirlpool Refrigerator GB9FHDXWS09, broken center crisper rail

My parents have a Whirlpool Refrigerator GB9FHDXWS09 with a broken center crisper rail.  On researching the part, I find that these things break consistently and constantly due to a poor design.  Replacement with the original part only lasts a few months.  Is there an upgraded part I should look for to make a permanent repair.  On one site I noticed a shade tree solution to brace the part that may not be worth the effort.

I did notice a part with a 2 year warranty.  If it fits just get a replacement every time it breaks.  this is not the option I would prefer to use.

Please help to point me towards a permanent solution.

Some parts suppliers like serval will allow you to upgrade to a lifetime replacement warranty on the part.

I don't think they do it for techs, but I hear regular customers doing it all the time. They offer it to them for more money.
