When the ice maker cycles on water drips from the supply hose where it enters the back the refrigerator. Ice maker makes ice and appears to operate properly otherwise. Leak is on the outside and not inside the freezer.

Any ideas on cause and solution?

Many thanks!

I think you're on the right track. What your seeing is what ya got- the small tubing seats into the 'fill tube'. If either is cracked you can get a leak, although this is not very common in my experience, but it can and does happen. So check for very small cracks. You can remove the fill tube, but when you put it bcak you will likely have to remove the ice maker to get the fill tube inserted properly.

It is possible that the fill cup is partially freezing and when the ice maker goes to fill the back pressure from the frozen fill cup can cause seepage from the tube/fill tube connection. If this is the case and your fill cup is partially getting frozen over then it is likely you have a failing water valve. It is much like a dripping faucet, except the drips can freeze inside the fill tube and cause a backup.

Good luck!
