I have a Frigidaire/Electrolux gas dryer that is intermittently beeping, flashing lights and shutting down.

Once it starts running, intermittently, the 4 lights under Dry will flash, 3 beeps can be heard, the timer remaining light will go out. Otherwise, drying normally, thus the intermittently.

I tried resetting by holding down the Cancel and Start buttons for 6 plus seconds and also Temperature and Dryness. No error code showing up.

Any suggestions going forward?

Check all venting. Try running it disconnected from exhaust vent see if any different results.

Thank you, but no difference.

After pressing the cancel button, the Drying, Cool Down, and Extended lights above the Start/Pause button start a rapid flashing after approximately 25 seconds.

Please double-check model number,

can't find model number: ag08700fso

Thank you, I have a picture of the door tag, but don't know how to attach it.

After closer examination I believe the number is AGQ8700SF0. I can't tell if the last digit/letter is zero or O. The third letter is Q not O/0. Sorry for the confusion. I need stronger glasses I guess.

Serial number is: XD82604338

When I put the dryer into test mode there are no error codes showing up. The only odd thing is when I get to the point where you can push all the buttons to see the leds light up the 4 leds above the Dryness button are already lit and remain lit. Pressing all the other buttons make the leds light up.

When the dryer is not running and the dryer beeps the 2 leds, above the Dryness button, More Dry and Normal are alternately lighting up and the dryer is beeping.

The Thermistor reading is 77 to 78 during the test cycle. I don't know what it's supposed to be.

You sure on that model number?

Sorry, I corrected that up above. I don't know how to edit the incorrect number in the topic heading. Maybe someone can tell me how to do that.

I seen the correction but still not pulling that up as a model, could it be AEQ?

Do you have the tech sheet located on unit? It should give you more detailed information and hopefully what those leds mean. Check behind control or inside of side wall.

Now the dryer shuts down after approximately 30 seconds. The Dryness button will not change the setting and all 4 lights are lit, unless the dryer is set to Timed then those lights go out. When the dryer shuts down the 3 lights about the Start/Pause blink rapidly.

I can't find a tech sheet.

Model #AGQ8700FS0 FRIGIDAIRE Residential Dryer

Shooting from the hip, since there are no error codes, I would guess the motor is over heating and shutting down.

Thanks for the shot. It's always a possibility, although my wife played around with the controls and found a combination of settings which dried a load of clothes where it had to run for about 45 minutes, so you would think that would have shut it down.

The Dryness button does not seem to be working normally. It won't change the setting when you push that particular button. The leds will change when another button/control is changed, but the Dryness button itself will not change the Dryness setting. I think I've read other Forum posts where that is an indication the Controller Board is bad?

Ok, the Dryness button has started working and all is good. The dryer is running thru a full cycle with not problem and the random beeping has stopped.

If we assume this is going to happen again, the Dryness button malfunction is a part of what that should be replaced? The Control Board? Any other part between the Board and the actual button?

Well, the assumed has happened, the button is sticking again.

Does anyone know what part this is, other than the button itself which moves when pushed, although not quite as freely as the other buttons?

I would just use timed dry and save the money!!

Thanks, that is allowing 30 minutes of run time so it does work. And a certain combination of setting will work too for a longer run, you just just have to turn the knobs to find that certain combination.
