Whirlpool Duet washer seal keeps coming off

I have a Whirlpool front load clothes washer. I replaced the door seal/boot, the large clamp, shock absorbers and the top two suspension springs for the tub. As far as I can tell the inner tub is not out of round, so the tub is not banging or moving around alot. After a few weeks the seal pulls loose off the outer tub. 

What am I missing? Some trick to putting the seal on? Could you glue the seal onto the outer tub?

Is the customer sneaking their King-Size quilt in there for a spin every couple weeks?

Is the lip you are mounting the boot on perfectly clean? Use some 90% alcohol and clean the boot and surfaces

Soap residue will make just about anything slip...

As far as I know, they aren't putting in anything large. I will double check with them. I will check for soap residue also. That may be it, I haven't checked for soap residue.  Any other suggestions?

does it come completely off track before they call you> if it is still partially attached you can perhaps deduce which side is releasing first...

Has happened only one time before. I think in about the 4 o'clock position. It didn't come completely off. I will be there tomorrow, and will let you know.

Both door boot springs were in good condition and are installed properly?

Early Duets (models numbers like 9100...9150 etc) were prone to this.

On those washers...the Door Gasket has a raised ridge.

The front tub cover lip...has a shallow groove/channel.

If the gasket is not perfectly seated in the groove...it *will* slip off.

What is the model number?

The front one is in good shape. The one on the tub is new.

I will let you know tomorrow. When this problem first happened, I figured it was the shocks and springs. Replaces those. It's been six weeks, and it just now came off again . It probably is an early model. Since it is about 10 years old.

If I remember right, there isn't much that holds those boots on than the clamp. The lip is very small.

I've had a few that slipped off...when these earlier models first came out...about 2004.

The trick for me was...to slow down during the period that I was beginning to tighten the clamp.

Tighten a little bit...push the gasket  all around the edge...tighten clamp a little more...push gasket edge again...repeat until sufficiently tight.

Later models are a different design and does not slip off as easily.
