Whirlpool Duet Washer W10441096A- the sound of silence

New to me washer, all the bells and whistles.  Except it doesn't.  No chimes are evident- even at the end of the cycle.  I've pressed the "cycle signal" button.  No change.  Not a big deal but I would like to know when the washer is done.

The vast majority of control boards out there have a small speaker mounted on the circuit board, ocassionally, the solder joint on the part gives way and the result is SILENCE.

It is really not worth the trouble for this one detail, considering the board costs 200 dollars- buy a 99 cent egg timer from the dollar store and crank it to 60 minutes before you walk away from the laundry...

And yes, reading the manual for the Tone adjustment instructions never hurts...!
