List of appliances with DC motors?

Hey all,

I'm wanting a motor for a project, and an increasing number of appliances have great brushless dc (BLDC) motors inside.

For instance, I know SmartDrive(tm) motors by fisher&paykel are popular among hobbyists on youtube (though not exactly easy to find in my area).

I'm looking to find (or create) a list of other, more common, brands/models as well.

Anyone know of any?

Thanks in advance,
-kurt

Most all current production refrigerators use BLDC motors. EPA mandates require Appliance Manufacturers use less energy.

Tanks MoTeD!  Good to know!

Also, doing a search, I'm seeing a lot of refrigerators that use the buzzword "inverter technology".  I'm assuming these are THE OPPOSITE of what I want, right?  Like, as in, to hit the EPA thing you mentioned they're using an adjustable inverter to slow down an AC motor??
