kfis25xvms2 refrigerator intermittent issue

Hi everyone...   I have the above Kitchenaid fridge/freezer.  For about 6 weeks now there has been an annoying issue.  The unit is getting power, but occasionally stops working, and the display blanks.  No controls work.   After a while you can hear the unit trying to start, with the compressor starting for a few seconds then giving up.  Then out of the blue, it starts up and works perfectly for a few days.

I had a spare control unit (the part mounted on the front of the door) which didn't help.  I have installed a new capacitor, and starter unit on the compressor, again to no effect.

Any ideas?

Mike

Intermittent problems are the toughest to diagnose. The compressor is powered off the Main Control Board in the rear of the fridge, not the dispenser control board you replaced. I would start back there, check for loose connections and if the board has obvious damage, like a burnt spot. Also make sure the outlet you plug the fridge into is good, properly grounded and doesn't have a loose neutral. Board part number is WPW10310240.

OK, that was great, and fixed the problem, in 10 minutes tops...  The only issue was the programming, it came with instructions for a Maytag, not a Kitchenaid...
