Changed bearing bracket and drum support shaft to get rid of loud sheet metal rattle noise, then installed new idler, this issue comes on as dryer is warming up, even on knit delicate heat setting and dies away as dryer cools. Too impatient in the beginning to notice. This old unit has door access in rear for idler and the large circular element. thks.

Odd about it happening as it heats and stops as it cools.

You may have a cracked blower , as it warms up it will go out of balance causing the whole machine to rattle . These are pretty common to do this.

thks all never considered any of these, this unit sits behind wall next to living room in apartment. Noise is an issue. Thks...

I would go with evaappliance. Most of the time it's that flimsy plastic blower wheel and housing.
