Subzero Refrigerator 211RFD thermostat replace help

Recommended Posts

I need to replace the thermostat in my subzero 211RFD with part #4201470 (hoping to find locally on Monday).  The "coil" disappears down behind a rear panel in the fridge interior and  gentle tug will not budge.  By "coil" I am meaning what I believe to be the temperature sensing probe that appears coiled up when new that is now uncoiled and disappearing into parts unknown.  Is this actually connected to something or just "hung up"?  Recommendations on how to fully replace this part appreciated.

Thanks in advance for assistance,

Dave

Please disregard as I have answered this one myself, as I should have seen I could do originally...  grasshopper... yes

Good luck finding that one locally,  Sub-Zero will not sell parts through parts distributors... They only sell through their own 3 warehouses which are named West Coast Parts,  Midwest parts, and Mid Atlantic parts.   You can only buy from one of these 3 warehouses, determined by your shipping address.

You may also get lucky and find a Sub-Zero service company that stocks this thermostat and is willing to sell it.... but parts places aren't supposed to sell Sub-Zero parts (at least not with warranty).

Thanks for that.  Fingers crossed things go well locally.  There is a second generation father and son sub zero repair shop that I will try first thing Monday then go from there.

Not actually correct but the general spirit is correct. Sub-Zero only sells genuine parts through independently owned parts distributors which each have exclusive territories. If you call Sub-Zero (800-222-7820) and give them your zip code they will gladly refer you to the parts distributor for your area.

Yes thanks, I have gone through that process.  They would not even drop ship to me with a distributor purchase but arrangements are made to hopefully have me back up and chillin by mid week!
