Helping out a buddy with a washer. He's getting a LID error along the control panel. When I opened it up, I saw that the wires coming from the lid switch were spiced with the orange and yellow/orange wires coming from the washer. However, yellow/orange from the switch was spliced to yellow/orange from the machine and the same went for the orange wire. I assumed that if the Lid Switch was at fault, this splice job wouldn't have solved the issue because the wires were still connected in the same way. I've seen some videos on Youtube where wires were spliced to override switches, so I spliced it accordingly (yellow/orange to orange) but I am still getting the same LID error. There is no tech sheet in this washer either for me to follow as the previous homeowner must have removed it when he did the splice job I mentioned earlier.

Thank you for the response, however I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Do I need a new switch?

I meant that I looks like the switch was replaced at some point that's why it's spliced, is this the model where the motor is giving you the error, if so try resetting the code by unplugging washer, waiting 30 seconds, plugging back in and the open and close lid 7 times as quickly a possible

No, the error code is coming from the digital display on the control panel.

Any suggestions on this? Should I try replacing the lid switch all together since it was cut, stripped, and spliced?
