Whirlpool Duet Steam washer with Direct motor drive

Hi

Please help me out.
I purchased a Whirlpool Duet Steam washer with direct motor drive (model WFW8740DW) in Florida around 3 years ago along with matching steam dryer.
After our move we attempted to reconnect the washer and dryer here in Spain (by use of transformer and by certified electrician).
The dryer worked right away, however, the washer is blocked for use with flashing error code F06 E03 and cannot be reset thru the diagnostics menu/ program of the machine.
We understood that this may be fixed by replacing the control board in its entirety.
Do you agree?
Can you help out, as Whirlpool USA won t be of assistance and neither is Whirlpool in Spain as they do not know this model here in Europe.
Thanks so much in advance,
Marcia

that error code is an interface communication error.  The main control board is not communicating with the user interface behind the front control.   Take the top off and check the wires and the connections for the in the harness connection  from the main control to the user interface. Make sure both sides are seated in properly. With a meter you need to check the wires for total continuity and make sure there are no breaks.  If the wires are good and the connections are open enough to make good contact and are seated good at both ends then you will need to order a new  interface control board.

Not sure who told you this move would be a good idea. Power in Europe is generally delivered at 50 hz but in US it's 60 hz. Even with a transformer to step the 230v down to 115v it's still at 50hz. These things are fritzy enough when supplied with the correct power. I'd cut my losses now and get something designed for your area.
