Mother in laws Kenmore Diswasher (will post model number later) doesn’t turn on.  Took the control panel loose and fuse tests ok and door switches test ok but I held the two door switches firmly closed with my hand and it seems to start up.  Suspect bad switch?  Or is the male bracket somehow off?  Nothing appears out of place ..

Possible a switch can be partially misaligned or worn out?

thanks,

Sounds like door not closely properly and not actuating switch.

Why?

Doors can get funked up by someone putting too much weight on them when they are open. Hinges can wear out causing improper closure.

Door latch or strike could be fouled up.

Need to really look it over.

Had some that were catching on the counter or cabinet and felt like it was closing but really wasn't.
