Not exactly following above statement

Did you test damper via diagnostics?

If damper opens and closes  in test and you replaced the thermistor main board is all that’s left.

If damper doesn’t work in test mode, you likely need new damper verify by insuring it’s getting voltage.

From what I gather from this statement is that you left the damper disconnected? If the FF section is that warm with the damper always open the it appears to me that there is an air restriction somewhere. Is the return back to the freezer clear?

If you are a tech servicing appliances I highly recommend you join this site. Then you will have access to those documents.

Are you sure the damper doesn’t close on its own once power is removed? Did you visually inspect damper after power was removed and then again when you recorded those temperatures to verify it’s still open?

If your a tech apply for legacy tech status its free. Its possible that “1/4 of the way open is insufficent to cool to 40 deg in the conditions. Thats why 1/4 is not the max.  Fan stopping? And ice in air supply?
